Meet Danielle, one of our fabulous dog grooming professionals from Alexandria by way of South Florida! Danielle has harbored a lifetime love for canines that led her to a dog-grooming career after adopting her cherished toy poodle, Punzie (who is known to the world as Rapunzel).
Her grooming expertise truly shines the most when it comes to Poodles, Doodles, sporting breeds, and executing precise outline trims. She has a specific flair for sculpting that “teddy bear” face.
When you select Danielle as your groomer, you assure superior care and affection during the whole grooming process. She prides herself in being able to deliver a safe and friendly environment for your dog, leaving your dog not only looking great and adorable but also feeling loved and comfortable.

Hello, Shaw and DC dog lovers! I am excited to introduce myself and take a moment to explain a little bit about my path as a dog groomer and what has led me to be a huge part of the beloved District Dog, a staple to the Shaw community dog grooming and spa scene.
Over the last ten years, since my career at PetSmart, where I had the opportunity to help nurture those skills over a span of ten years, dog grooming was not just a profession. It became my passion. It’s pretty funny to recollect the way my mom was astonished at the choice of my future profession. But here, even after years, I cannot but receive pleasure from transforming these little pups by grooming.
My love for dogs also spills out towards nearly every other breed, with the diversity and uniqueness purveying from the entirety of them that sit at my grooming table. My approach is somewhat unorthodox—meeting each dog with a fresh set of eyes, trying to clear the situation of all preconceived notions from both the owner and the dog that might color our interaction. That makes the experience both the dog and me have a great one, pointing out the environment of the spa that we create here in Shaw, DC.
One of my proudest times was being able to progress from being overwhelmed with dealing with three dogs and grooming them to easily grooming six to seven dogs a day. It was really one accomplishment that allowed me to see how I was growing and adapting in this changing industry. I am an avid learner and one who seeks to continually improve with a daily goal: reflection on evolving dog grooming techniques and trends.
But above skill and achievement, it is the little moments of joy in this work – those furball kisses – which really bring out why I love being a dog groomer. Above all, I am very appreciative to District Dogs for the opportunity they are giving me to continue my passion in Shaw and add to the district’s dog grooming community.
